Nemrut Clear Glass Vase No: 5

Nemrut Vase No: 5 combines the porous, untouched texture of volcanic lava stone with a wider, more encompassing glass form. In this design, the physical contrast between the rough character of the rock and the transparent smoothness of the glass becomes even more pronounced. The most unique detail of No. 5 is the distinct, angled cut at the top of its rounder and more voluminous body. This inclined rim adds a modern and dynamic stance to the vase, while also emphasizing the accidental fluidity of hand-blown glass.

Our design philosophy, as always, is Wabi-Sabi (imperfect and transient beauty). Every indentation on the stone is a design element that defines the product's character. Nemrut No. 5 is more than a decorative object; it is a living art shaped by nature and fire.

An Unreplicable Process: Craftsmanship Directly on Stone

Like every piece in the Nemrut series, No. 5 comes to life with the breath of glass masters. Hot glass is blown directly onto the volcanic lava stone (glass blowing on stone), trapping the stone's natural structure within itself. While hot, the glass takes shape according to the stone's contours, and when it cools, it becomes an inseparable whole with the stone, sealing itself to it.

• Unique and One-of-a-Kind: Every crack on the stone's surface and the flow of the glass at that moment are accidental. Therefore, each vase has an unreplicable form, of which only one exists in the world. The product you purchase is single and unique.
